Our staff are integral in making sure each camper at Camp Horizons has the best experience possible. Each activity is fun, structured and varied. All our staff have enhanced DBS checks and have extensive experience working with children, whether that's through their teaching careers, instructing at drama schools or working at summer camps all over the world. Our staff training programme covers all aspects of child safety and safeguarding, while at the same time ensuring our 'counselors' are prepared to lead engaging activities.
Learn more about our team below (As we approach the summer we will continue to update this page with staff profiles so you can see who will be working at Camp Horizons this summer!)
I am currently a PE teacher at an inner-London school. I spent two summers at a camp in America, where I worked as a counselor and as head of girl's camp. I am extremely passionate about sport, having competed at international level in gymnastics and cheerleading in my youth. In my spare time I love to take part in social activities, whether that be sports-orientated or something more relaxed, like a walk. I am really excited for another successful year at Camp Horizons!
Hello! I am a summer camp veteran, having worked for four summers at a camp in Massachusetts, USA. I still maintain it's the best job I have ever had, working as the Waterfront director - which meant I was on the Lake all day - was a particular highlight of my summer camp experience! I currently work as a business consultant and am really looking forward to another year at Camp Horizons!
I am super excited to be back this summer with the Horizons Team at Stratford! Throughout my life I have always been a keen sportsman, however football has always been my true love. I love working with the youth and as a qualified F.A Level 2 Coach I have always wanted to coach and manage younger age groups to pass on my football knowledge and experience as well as watching them develop as young adults, learning different techniques and skills.
I have studied Classical and Contemporary dance at the State School of Dance in Athens, Greece and graduated with a Diploma of Dance Instructor and have performed in shows across London and New York. I have been teaching dance, yoga and creative movement classes to children and adults since 2011, as well as working at the American Community School Summer Camp in Athens! Teaching is very important to me as I get the opportunity to merge my passion and enthusiasm for dance with my love of sharing the knowledge I've gained during both my training and professional career - I am excited for camp at Hackney this summer!
I grew up in Tower Hamlets and have worked in Hackney for the past 6 years as a PE teacher. I have spent many of my school holidays working for summer camps, National Citizen Service and generally working with children of all ages. I love being a PE teacher and always try an find something that even the least sportiest person can enjoy. I am currently part of a running group as I am training for the London Marathon but have also been a member of three netball teams as this what I enjoyed playing growing up. I am excited about my role as Camp Manager at the SportsDock (Beckton) site and hope this is where I will be spending my summers in the future!
I can't wait to be a part of the Stratford summer camp this year! This is my first time joining the camp, although I have done coaching and teaching before. I look forward to meeting everyone and seeing what is in store for me. I have always been passionate about sports and fitness. I have done coaching and training since I was 17. I am currently a PE teaching assistant and plan on becoming a PE teacher in the near future. I love working with children and encouraging them to have fun, it is even better when you get to know them and see them develop great relationships and have a good time too.
