Our staff are integral in making sure each camper at Camp Horizons has the best experience possible. Each activity is fun, structured and varied. All our staff have enhanced DBS checks and have extensive experience working with children, whether that's through their teaching careers, instructing at drama schools or working at summer camps all over the world. Our staff training programme covers all aspects of child safety and safeguarding, while at the same time ensuring our 'counselors' are prepared to lead engaging activities.

I am currently a PE teacher at an inner-London school. I spent two summers at a camp in America, where I worked as a counselor and as head of girl's camp. I am extremely passionate about sport, having competed at international level in gymnastics and cheerleading in my youth. In my spare time I love to take part in social activities, whether that be sports-orientated or something more relaxed, like a walk. I am really excited for another successful year at Camp Horizons!
Hello! I am a summer camp veteran, having worked for four summers at a camp in Massachusetts, USA. I still maintain it's the best job I have ever had, working as the Waterfront director - which meant I was on the Lake all day - was a particular highlight of my summer camp experience! I currently work as a business consultant and am really looking forward to another year at Camp Horizons!
I am super excited to be back this summer with the Horizons Team at Stratford! Throughout my life I have always been a keen sportsman, however football has always been my true love. I love working with the youth and as a qualified F.A Level 2 Coach I have always wanted to coach and manage younger age groups to pass on my football knowledge and experience as well as watching them develop as young adults, learning different techniques and skills.
Although I am not a native of Newham, having lived here for the past 4 years I am super excited to be a part of the Camp Horizons team at SportsDock! Having studied at the University of East London, it is certainly a home away from home. I am passionate about sport and have been coaching for 8 years. I currently work as a sports coach in and around London, and have also experienced coaching in Australia, South America and Africa. I have a passion for working with young children and allowing them to experience and enjoy sports. I am also a keen footballer, having been captain of the University team as well as playing semi-pro both in both the UK and Australia!
I grew up in Tower Hamlets and have worked in Hackney for the past 6 years as a PE teacher. I have spent many of my school holidays working for summer camps, National Citizen Service and generally working with children of all ages. I love being a PE teacher and always try an find something that even the least sportiest person can enjoy. I am currently part of a running group as I am training for the London Marathon but have also been a member of three netball teams as this what I enjoyed playing growing up. I am excited about my role as Camp Manager at the SportsDock (Beckton) site and hope this is where I will be spending my summers in the future!
I can't wait to be a part of the Stratford summer camp this year! This is my first time joining the camp, although I have done coaching and teaching before. I look forward to meeting everyone and seeing what is in store for me. I have always been passionate about sports and fitness. I have done coaching and training since I was 17. I am currently a PE teaching assistant and plan on becoming a PE teacher in the near future. I love working with children and encouraging them to have fun, it is even better when you get to know them and see them develop great relationships and have a good time too.
I’m really looking forward to working at Camp Horizons this summer. This is my first summer, but I have worked at a summer camp in the USA for 3 years before and a summer camp in England. I taught in a primary school for 3 years and I loved teaching PE and ran netball and rounders clubs. I play netball in my spare time and love being involved in sports games. I can’t wait for the summer to begin!
After spending my last two summers working in a summer camp in Pennsylvania USA, I’m so excited to be joining Camp Horizons! I am a recent graduate from UEL where I studied Urban Dance Practice, I’m a lover of Hip-Hop dance styles and have 6 years teaching experience in varied genres of dance and sport related activities. Along with this I have recently gained my level 2 in dance fitness instructing. It is a great passion of mine to be able to pass on my skills and inspire others. I can’t wait for all the fun at the SportsDock (Beckton) this summer!
I am very eager to start my first year at Camp Horizons. Since a young age, I've always been interested in Sport but over the course of time, my passion for Sport has grown. Whilst studying Sports and Exercise Science (Teaching and Coaching), I have joined and worked for various teaching and coaching organisations since the age of 16 all while gaining many coaching badges in a variety of Sports - adding to my knowledge and developing me as a future teacher. I am excited about my role as Group Activity Leader; facilitating the young people's learning through play!
Hi! I’m Claudia and I am Camp Manager for our Hackney Camp! I am currently a PE teacher in a primary school in Tottenham Hale. With a degree in Sport & Exercise Science I have always loved PE and was part of any sports clubs I could get my hands on at school. As an all rounded sports woman I want to bring fun, passion and enthusiasm to camp this year as it’s my first one! I am also a dancer and teacher at Boy Blue Entertainment which is a Hip-Hop Theatre Company and hope I can bring something groovy into camp this year (flosses away) :)
